In what some consider a modern fairy tale story, Angela Gisela Brown, a native of Panama became Her Serene Highness (HSH), Princess Angela of Liechtenstein when she exchanged marriage vows with His Serene Highness Prince Maximilian of Liechtenstein on January 29, 2000. Princess Angela is the only black European princess of a reigning Royal family.

Angela is the daughter of Javier Francisco Brown and Silvia Burke de Brown. Born in the province of Bocas del Toro, Angela traveled to NY with her parents from an early age, where they took up permanent residence. She completed elementary and secondary schooling in NY. She studied at Parsons School of Design and was awarded the “Oscar de La Renta”, “Golden Thimble Award” for graduating with honors.

Angela worked as a fashion designer and launched her line of clothing under the name A. Brown. It was in NY, that she met Prince Maximilian, the second son of HSH Prince Hans- Adams II and HSH Princess Marie who was working for Chase Capital Partners in 1997. They became good friends, and two years later they became engaged. On January 29, 2000, they were married at St. Vincent Ferrer Church in NY. Angela wore an elegant white dress that she designed and the same Kinsky Tiara that Princess Tatjana wore when she married Phillip Von Lattorf in June, 1999.

Prince Maximilian and Princess Angela have one son-HSH Prince Alfons who was born May 18 2001.The Royal family reside between London and Germany. Liechtenstein is a small principality located in Central Europe between Austria and Switzerland.
